I grew up making art all the time. I attended high school at the prestigious “Fame” school in New York City, spending more than half my day in the painting room, I did manage to squeeze In a darkroom class over the 4 years. But I can’t say I loved it or even understood what I was doing. Didn’t think about photography one bit while attending college for fine art. Fast forward to 2017; I’m a high school art teacher in upstate, NY and was just told I’m teaching digital photography- eek. Having never used a digital camera in my life I needed to figure it out fast. I started out tolerating it and mostly confused but quickly progressed to completely obsessed. Now, there is rarely a day that I cannot be found with my camera documenting my 2 kids, the sky, junk on the ground and everything in between. Consuming all that I can to grow as an artist and learning from anyone willing to talk to me.
